It’s never too late to become a mom and have beautiful children — Omkari Singh proved this to be true when she gave birth to twins at 70, officially becoming the world’s oldest mother in 2008.
Although the mother from Northern India was already blessed with 2 daughters and 5 grandsons, she, as well as her husband, didn’t want to give up on having a son to inherit their small holdings.
Omkari’s husband, who is now a retired farmer, mortgaged his land, sold his buffalos, and spent his life savings to pay 350,000 INR for the IVF treatment.
Finally, Omkari has gotten pregnant at 70, “I was shocked when the old lady told me she was pregnant,” said gynecologist Nisha Malik. But as expected, Omkari’s labor was far from easy.
