Kim Kardashian has been receiving severe backlash after her recent interview to the Vanity Fair. She advises women to work hard as according to her “nobody wants to work these days”.
Kim has been heavily criticized for her inconsiderate comment and has been facing massive backlash on social media ever since the interview went viral. Netizens believe that someone as affluent as Kim Kardashian cannot advise other women who aren’t as privileged as her for not working hard enough.
According to the tweets, the definitions of ‘work’ and ‘working hard’ are far different for Kim and other women.
In the interview, the Kardashians discussed how hard she works to make money. She said that success doesn’t come until you work hard to get it. They also discussed their reality TV legacy and their extensive empire of lifestyle brands.

Giving out her advice to the women, she said, “I have the best advice for women and business. Get your f---ing a-- up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.” Her elder sister Kourtney Kardashian agreed with her statement and said, “That's so true. You have to surround yourself with people that want to work,” she added.
However, replying to her comment, actress and activist Jameela Jamil said, “No one needs to hear your thoughts on success”.
“I think if you grew up in Beverly Hills with super successful parents in what was simply a smaller mansion… nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic. This same 24 hours in the day shit is a nightmare. 99.9% of the world grew up with a very different 24 hours,” she said.
Many agreed to Jameela’s point of view and called out the billionaire for sharing some very shallow advice for all the overworked yet underpaid female workers. Some are working hard enough and still not getting enough paid. Many are working overtime to survive a global pandemic.
“I was an editor on the Kardashian apps in 2015 in LA, worked days nights & weekends, could only afford groceries from the 99 Cents Only Store, called out “sick” more than once because I couldn’t put gas in my car to get to the office, & was reprimanded for freelancing on the side,” a Twitter user said.
Kim also called herself and her entire family ‘self-made billionaires’ which also didn’t go down well with the Twitteraties.
Another social media user wrote, “This! The audacity of some, who have used the money and celebrity daddy and mommy to create a business. And then dare to judge people who have worked ten times stronger than she ever did for ten times less”.
What do you think? Has Kim gone too far this time?
