A small business owner from Texas went viral on TikTok after posting an unpleasant interaction with a customer.
Faith Thomas, whose TikTok handle is @that.flamingo.lady, owns a dessert shop, Frozen Flamingo, in Georgetown. Her video, titled "She really couldn't buy another hot chocolate," surpassed a million views, and you will soon learn why.
In the video, Thomas first said she had been giving out free hot chocolate coupons as part of her loyalty program for her Frozen Flamingo shop, which offers frozen custard, shaved ice, frozen cocktails, milkshakes, mudslides, etc.
She explained:
"They had a week to use the coupon, and today is the last day," Thomas continued, "This lady comes to the window, and she's like, 'Hi, I want to use my free hot chocolate.'"
Faith then asked the customer whether they'd like whipped cream or marshmallows. She stated the customer said they "just want a second one."
Faith responded, "Awesome, I'll ring you up, no problem."
However, the customer was not pleased, as they thought she should not pay for the second hot chocolate since "they had someone else in their car."
Clearly frustrated, Faith asked, "How am I supposed to make everyone happy?"

Commenters side with Faith Thomas
The comments were mainly on the side of the small business owner.
Some used sarcasm, as they wrote:
"It's free – the alternative is no hot chocolate. People are sometimes ridiculous."
Another compared the customer to other Karens:
"It's 100% a problem with Karen, not a problem with you. You're amazing."
Some were giving business advice to Faith:
"You should have explained to her that the whole point of sending rewards like this is to hope it brings in extra business, not to lose money giving away."

Another TikToker made us chuckle:
"I have 17 people in my vehicle, the coupon should be for 17 free hot chocolates."
A person asked Thomas whether she consented to the customer's demands. The dessert shop owner fiercely replied, "I didn't!!"
Do you think that the business owner was in the right? If so, and you live in the area, you can support this small business, and make sure to give Thomas a shoutout if you get your one free hot chocolate. Remember, a coupon is for one, not your whole family and friends!
