A viral video showing a husband adjusting his wife's position to prevent men from staring at her has sparked a heated debate on how to handle men staring at women in public.

For many men, it's hard to stand idly by while their partner is being checked out by others. But how should a man react to this situation? Should he try to control his partner or confront the person staring directly?

TikTok’s controversial opinion on a video titled "When you get married and your man puts you in check" has stirred up online debate, suggesting that men should put men who stare at their partners in check instead of controlling their woman.

The OP criticizes the husband featured in the video for “manhandling” his wife when men were staring at her while she was bent over a table.

He also believes that comments on the video praising this behavior only highlight the work that needs to be done in how women's bodies are perceived in public.

He believes that the husband wanted his wife to just hide rather than confront the men who were staring at her. However, the man acknowledges that confronting “dishonorable men” who stare at women can be difficult, as they may lie about their actions.

OP shares his method of dealing with men who stare at his girlfriend for a long time.

If he’s out and notices a man staring at his girlfriend for an extended period of time, he moves his seat and stares back at the man.

If he's not talking to or interacting with his girlfriend, all he does is look directly at the men staring at her. “It turns out men who like to stare don’t like to be stared at,” he adds.

At the end of his video, he clarifies that the real problem lies with the man who thinks staring is “ok,” not the woman he loves.

The video has received over 3.3 million views since its posting, with commenters showing support for his stance on handling men's public stares, while others held opposing opinions.

“YESSS YESSS LOUDER!!!” wrote one viewer, while another added, “Finally someone understand.”

Several have taken the opportunity to share their partner's approach to dealing with public stares, with one person commenting, “My husband notices someone staring at me he just looks back at them. He doesn’t do anything to me.”

A second shared, “My husband stares at the man who is staring until they make eye contact and then winks at them.”

A third wrote, “My hubby stares at them right back. Makes them look away fast I don't notice cause I don't pay attention to other guys.”

On the other hand, some believed that not taking any action was the best course of action, with one person sharing, “I don’t do anything lol, what other peoples eyes do is not my problem. My wife and I go unbothered lmao.”

Another person shared their perspective, stating ”I let them stare. I get to go home with her. They don’t.”

One viewer held a neutral point of view, commenting, “I would've done neither. I would've just subtly make her aware of the situation and let her handle it as she sees fit.”

The question of how to handle men who stare at women in public is still up for debate as there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to handle the situation, and it ultimately boils down to individual perspectives and preferences.
