Pastor Joshua Graber from the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Vinton, Iowa, opened his speech by praying for those against Trump to be "put to silence."

The pastor's introduction was captured on cameras, and it started with, "We ask that those who stand against him would be put to silence." Graber continued, "That those horrendous actions against him and his family would be exposed and struck down."

Kind of contradictory

The pastor added, "Give us the courage to say no to evil… and give us the courage to stand with President Trump." As expected, the opening prayer went viral, with Ron Filipowski sharing on X that this was indeed an opening prayer, "Pastor's opening prayer at Trump rally today in Iowa."

The whole rally was a mess

Trump repeated false claims that Democrats kill babies after birth, saying, "If the mother doesn't want the baby, we execute the baby." He reiterated that one needs an ID to buy bread, as Trump said, "If ya buy a loaf of bread, you gotta have your ID out but not for voting."

One of the most bizarre statements came from the 77-year-old former president who claimed that Biden spends "so much time at the beach," but "I have a much better body than him." Trump's complaint apparently was that Biden went to the beach shirtless.

Vinton is a town of little under 5,000 residents, and they "lost two directors in two years as city residents have complained about the library's display of LGBTQ books and books about President Joe Biden."

Liberal agenda

Important Dates in LGBT History Some residents also complained about the LGBTQ community and the library, accusing the library of "having a 'liberal agenda' due to its hiring of openly LGBTQ staff members."

To voters, Trump is more religious than Pence

HarrisX for Deseret News conducted a polling, and the results suggested that over half of Republican voters see Trump as a person of faith, more than Mike Pence or Mitt Romney. This is interesting because Trump rarely speaks about his faith.

One pastor was charged in Georgia alongside Trump

According to charges, pastor Stephen Cliffgard Lee and 18 others "unlawfully conspired and endeavored to conduct and participate in criminal enterprise in Fulton County, Georgia, and elsewhere."

Among the specific charges against Lee was attempting to influence witnesses and conspiring to solicit false statements and writings.

Shocking revelations

Religion News claims that "Lee worked with Willie Lewis Floyd III, the head of Black Voices for Trump, and publicist Trevian Kutti (who worked with Ye) to try to influence falsely accused women by Trump allies.

They, too, were charged

Floyd and Kutti are also among those indicted." Kutti met with Freeman and threatened one of the women with jail. That was captured on police cam.

People want the pastor expelled

Thousands of Christians want a pastor who was indicted in Georgia alongside former president Trump to be expelled from his denomination, with Faithful America citing, "The credible charges against Rev. Lee are deeply troubling, expose an abuse of pastoral authority as well as a threat to American democracy, and contradict the Biblical values of justice and truth."

Trump's pastors are not the only ones with problematic views

The pastor who was part of DeSantis’ second inauguration for Florida governor, Tom Ascol, claimed that gay people should be “put to death.”

The pastor revealed his true face after attacking Ted Cruz

The senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Cape Coral, Florida, showed his true colors after Ted Cruz criticized Uganda’s new “Anti-Homosexuality Act."

Cruz's tweet that started it all

Cruz commented on an article about Uganda’s “Anti-Homosexuality Act," which says that “aggravated homosexuality” will be punished with death. Cruz wrote, "Any law criminalizing homosexuality or imposing the death penalty for “aggravated homosexuality” is grotesque & an abomination. ALL civilized nations should join together in condemning this human rights abuse."

Ascol did not like Cruz's response

The pastor wrote, “Tell it to God, Ted.” He cited Old Testament, “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.”

Leviticus’ ancient Biblical laws

Among other laws, there should be a death penalty for fortune tellers, those who work on Sundays, or anyone who charges interest on loans.

Conservative Christians like to quote Leviticus 20:13

Despite not commenting on other old Biblical laws, citing Leviticus 20:13 is still popular among extremist Christians.

The pastor kept tweeting

Several hours later, Ascol tweeted, “Amazing how many professing Christians, even self-designated ‘conservative’ ones, are embarrassed by God’s Word. Just quote some unpopular words of God & watch what happens. Many so-called Christians react the same way that unashamed unbelievers do. It’s a commentary.”

Ascol also went after abortion with all his might

Ascol expressed that women who commit abortion should be jailed and trialed for murder. In 2018 he helped with The Dallas Statement's statement that referred to same-sex attraction as a “sinful, disordered affection” and same-sex marriage as against “God’s design.”

Rejecting gay Christians

The statement included rejecting “gay Christians” and gender fluidity. It also said that “intersectionality, radical feminism, and critical race theory” are inconsistent with “biblical teaching.”

Straight out of DeSantis' playbook

DeSantis signed a series of anti-LGBTQ laws, introduced a six-week abortion ban, and stripped off colleges from DEI programs. Some critics claim he went further than Trump, which could be a problem in the upcoming elections.

Uganda's law and the U.S. influence

LGBTQNation claims that U.S. evangelicals helped to create Uganda’s law. Anyone suspected of being gay could be a possible victim, so many people left the country.

Some conservatives support the law

Allegedly, Matt Walsh, his associate Michael Knowles, Heritage Foundation associate Delano Squires, and New York Post columnist Miranda Devine supported this law.

Similar support was given to Russia in 2013

Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute (C-FAM) President Austin Ruse said Russia’s anti-LGBTQ+ laws were a “good thing," He added that most people in the U.S. would support those laws, though there was nothing to confirm these claims. A year later, anti-LGBTQ+ evangelical leader Franklin Graham supported the anti-LGBTQ laws in Russia.
