Even while at home, it is necessary to keep the spark burning bright. Just because you’re already together doesn’t mean you should stop putting in an effort. It is as vital to continue doing things together while in a relationship as when you were just beginning.
While it’s true that staying home can be a little boring, it is equally valid that there are so many things you can do with your boyfriend at home. Some of these could include inexpensive, easy, and fun activities like game nights and candlelight dinners.

Below are some easy to plan and enjoyable activities that you can do with your boyfriend at home.
GAME NIGHT
If you are looking to try and do some stuff to keep you from dying of boredom, why don’t you try and organize a bit of game night? Break out the scrabble, monopoly, puzzle, and cards you’ve kept somewhere for too long. This should serve to excite you both enough, especially if you are both competitive. It also staves off boredom.
CANDLELIGHT DINNER TAKE OUT
Being creative is a must, especially if you think you’re stuck in a rut. So if you’ve ordered Chinese for dinner, try to spice it up by breaking out some wine, candles, and white table cloth. Put your phones away and turn off the television. Instead, put on some jazz or music you both enjoy so you can dance to it later after your conversation over dinner.
KITCHEN DUTY TOGETHER
Block some time off for your kitchen duty date. Working together to make pasta, pizza, or even a bit of dessert, should help you both get back in rhythm. Even if you aren’t the best chefs in the world, working together on a dish should help you reconnect and enjoy the act of creating something, as well as devouring it.
BUBBLE BATH DATE
Sometimes, things can get a little too hectic. Even if you both work from home, and especially if you both have high-powered jobs. So take a bit of time off and soak in a bubble bath with your boyfriend. This should be relaxing, as well as romantic- two of the things you probably need to have in your life.
PROJECTOR MOVIE
If you have the most fantastic weather one night, and you’re tired of sitting in front of the television, try to bring the movie outside instead. You can bust out your old projector, a white sheet, and some snacks and lay down on a picnic cloth on the lawn. You can even make it a horror flick to keep things more exciting.
BACKYARD CAMPING
If you’ve been wanting to go camping, but you just don’t have the time, you can always take out your tent and set it up in your backyard. You can even make a campfire and roast smores and such above it. If you have folding chairs, you can put them near the fire, with your back to it, even, and watch the stars.
MAKE A BUCKET LIST
Even if you have no intention of accomplishing everything on your list, write down everything you want to do with your boyfriend (including the silly ones). This could be an entertaining activity. It can also become a cheat sheet for you to use to surprise your boyfriend in the future and vice versa. You can laugh and tease each other about your entries. To make it more fun, you can take turns listing things down.
READ OUT-LOUD TO EACH OTHER
This should be one of the most romantic activities you can do, especially if you’re both readers. Find out his favorite book of poems since they read beautifully aloud, and sit on one end of the couch. Make him lie down with his head on your lap and read the most romantic and beautiful passage you can find in the book. If you feel like asking him about it, he can even explain it to you. If you feel more like engaging in a lively discussion after, you can also do that.
TALK TO EACH OTHER
One of the best things you can do when you’re in a relationship is to communicate. Not in a hurried, in-between bites kind of way. Block some time off specifically for a conversation. If that feels too weird, make it a hang-out time where you ask each other questions. You can even make it more fun by only asking about stuff you didn’t know about the other person before. Or, if you like, you can engage in a game of “Would you rather?”
ART PROJECT
Even if you’re both not talented when it comes to art-related activities, it should still be fun to try. So buy a canvass and some watercolors, and turn it into a fun project that you both can work on maybe three times a week. You can share a canvas if you like. However, if you want to keep things lively with competition, you can also have one each. For starters, you can both decide to paint how you each see each other. This should be fun and potentially enlightening.s
LISTENING PARTY
If you’re both musically inclined, you can even listen to your vinyl album collection while drinking your favorite wine. This time, place the music in the forefront of your date instead of as a background. You can also cuddle on a loveseat when you’re doing this to increase the intimacy of the act. If you have the talent, you can even sing to your man to let him know how much you love him with a song.
It is necessary to put in some time and effort to keep things alive in your relationship. Don’t let your busy schedules and tired bodies get in the way of your happy-ever-after. After all, even happy ever afters need work. If you’re finding it too difficult to do it outside, get creative and try some DIY to keep things going.
