Everyone is well acquainted with the court battle between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. However, we do not know for sure if Amber telling the truth or not.
Well, we have no other choice but to leave the job to body language analysts to do what they know how to do best.
One thing is certain and that is, a lot has been uncovered concerning the behavior of Amber Heard and as you scroll, you'll get to discover more than meets the eye.
What Does a Behavior Analyst Do?
Behavior analysts access and evaluate patients' behavior to create and develop treatment plans to improve communication and behavior.
Of course, listening to Amber's testimony, one may assume that it’s quite easy to spot her truth and lies. Surprisingly, at the end of the day, you'll discover that the truth is far more complicated.
We will be talking about this particular video:
Uncovering Amber Heard's Lies
- Cognitive Load
Cognitive load refers to the amount of information a working memory can hold at one time. In one of her testimonies, Amber said, "You know in this kind of argument nothing I do is working. Walking out of the room is me leaving him, walking away from me. Hey, where are you going? I'm talking to you! It was from there to pulling me in by the hand and still shouting about the accusations."
To most persons, this seemed okay and that she was telling the truth. But pause, read this phrase again. "Walking out of the room is me leaving him, walking away from me. Hey, where are you going."
Anyway, here's what the body language analyst says about that testimony. According to a body language analyst, "When we are being deceptive, what we call the cognitive load is overworked.
Our brains do a lot. You have to remember the truth, and then you tell the truth. But to lie, you have to do a lot. First, you think about all the lies you've told and try to see if what you're about to say is consistent with all you’ve said in time past.
- Speech Disfluency and Verbal Leaking
Right after Amber slips up with the sentence, the next baseline is speech disfluency and verbal leaking. What is that? Speech disfluency refers to any disruption in the flow of spoken language caused by the speaker. Stuttering is a good example of speech disfluency, and we see her do that a lot.
To observe or spot the presence of deception, according to behavior analysts, you discover some changes from baseline, which may include illustrators, blink and pause rate, speech rate, vague descriptions, repeated details, contextual embedding, reproduction of conversations, and emotional leakage in the face.
Clusters of Deception
Clusters of deception or clues border around two or more verbal (vocal) or non-verbal behavioral changes occurring simultaneously. Examples include:
- Lip Licking
Body language analysts try to explain that humans do this a lot. “It’s a way of supplying moisture to our lips so we could appear more presentable,” he said. However, Amber licks her lips often in moments of stress so it may necessarily not be a part of her baseline.
- Face Touching and Mouth Blocking
These are signs that contribute to our cluster but might not mean anything.
- Lip Compression
Individuals do this when they have something they don't want to say. And, of course, all of these may not necessarily be a baseline, but it is a good start.
- Eye Flutter and Slow Blink
In the video, we notice Amber doing a lot of this simultaneously along with the rest of the clusters of deception cited in the writeup.
With all the things we learned from the video, it looks like Amber Heard doesn't tell the truth.
