The British Royal Family has intrigued us for decades and continues to do so. This time, it is Prince William who is in the spotlight.
The latest rumors that the Duke of Cambridge is mourning and feeling angry toward his brother Harry are true, as revealed by Prince William's friends. Once an amicable relationship between the two brothers has hit rock bottom. And Prince Harry is to blame.
"He alternates between grieving for what he has lost and feeling really, really angry about what his brother has done,” revealed a friend of William’s.
“He truly loves Harry and feels he has lost the only person, aside from his wife, who understood this strange life of theirs. But he believes there are things you just don’t do. And Harry has 100 percent crossed that line.”
Another friend said that William has always been like a second father to Harry, which is why this shocking split is tearing him apart even further. But Harry's disrespecting behavior toward the Queen and the family has hurt William the most.
Not to mention that Harry has caused considerable embarrassment to the monarchy by airing the royal family's dirty laundry on numerous occasions.
Accidentally or not, the brothers didn't exchange a single word during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, even though it was the first time in two years that the British royalty appeared together at a formal gathering.
At the Queen's Thanksgiving service at St Paul's Cathedral, royal couples sat on the opposite sides of the cathedral, which allowed them to avoid glancing in each other's directions. The Sussexes were quick to make an exit after the ceremony, skipping a reception with other members of the royal family and senior British politicians.
The day before the Thanksgiving ceremony, the Queen had lunch with the couple in Buckingham Palace, meeting her namesake granddaughter Lilibet for the first time. The Sussexes decided to keep a low profile and returned to California before the end of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant.
Meanwhile, Prince William has been enjoying his roles as a husband and a father.
"He just loves being a dad and having a settled family around him. Having children always puts things into perspective, and doubly so for him", a close friend said.
Another friend commented on Prince William's marriage to the Duchess of Cambridge. "They honestly couldn’t be happier as a couple. You can’t get a cigarette paper between them."
Duke of Cambridge has also managed to mend his relationship with his father, Prince Charles.
"They are much more on the same page now," one confidant revealed. "They will always be quite different characters, but there’s a mutual respect."
Whether the Prince will be able to sort things out with his baby brother Harry remains to be seen. The brothers were close during their childhood years, but tensions escalated after the Susesexes "tell-all" interview with Oprah Winfried.
In any case, we root for the brothers to make up and keep our fingers crossed!
