Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Lauren Boebert of Colorado, both known for their far-right views, had a disagreement regarding the selection of the next House speaker.
During a conference hosted by Turning Point USA in Phoenix, Boebert criticized Greene for supporting current House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California for the position.

Boebert stated, “I’ve been aligned with Marjorie and accused of believing a lot of the things that she believes in,” She went on to add, “I don’t believe in this just like I don’t believe in … Jewish space lasers,” referencing one of Greene’s most widely-ridiculed conspiracy theories.
Greene responded on Twitter, stating that Boebert’s actions were reminiscent of “high school drama.” Greene also pointed out that Boebert had won reelection by a narrow margin, stating, “She just barely came through by 500 votes.”
“I’ve supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. President Trump has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert. Kevin McCarthy has supported and donated to Lauren Boebert,” Greene tweeted.

“She gladly takes our $$$ but when she’s been asked: Lauren refuses to endorse President Trump, she refuses to support Kevin McCarthy, and she childishly threw me under the bus for a cheap sound bite.”

Last month, Boebert declined to endorse Donald Trump’s potential 2024 bid, stating that while she is a “huge supporter” of the former president, she also “loves” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who may also run for the Republican nomination.
In addition, Boebert has not fully supported McCarthy in his bid to become House speaker with a narrow GOP majority in January. She stated that she would not back him unless there was a way to remove him from the position.
On the other hand, Greene has disregarded the alliance of far-right lawmakers who oppose McCarthy’s campaign and has instead fully supported him.
