A woman shared her frustration over the Christmas gift her boyfriend of 1.5 years gave her. Initially, people called her "ungrateful" since she mocked a pricey gift.
The Woman Showed The Present While Singing a Breakup Song
A TikTok user @sulkysuz shared a clip, captioned, "When my boyfriend of 1.5 years gifted me gold jewelry." The title seems pretty harmless, but as the woman sings to Jojo's "Get Out," it is clear she does not like the infinity necklace she got for Christmas.
In fact, she finds it was a "thoughtless" present and considers breaking up with the guy.
The first video caused so much negativity that the young woman did a follow-up video. When you see her second video, things finally start to make sense.

The follow-up clips gathered over a million likes and counting.
The woman asked all Toronto Maple Leaf baseball team fans how it would feel if they were gifted a Philadelphia 76ers jersey by their lover because "you don't watch basketball."
She stated, "that would say that they only pay enough attention to me to notice that I like sports."
Then Suzy pointed out how she wears silver jewelry "every day of my f--king life."
So, she is not team gold.

The Woman Says She Cannot Feel Grateful
The young woman walked the followers through her thought process.
She compared her boyfriend’s gifting skills to walking into Walmart and taking the first thing you see. In his case, it was “a gold necklace with a giant infinity symbol and a rhinestone."
She pondered why she would feel grateful for "a physical representation of how little of a f--k your partner gives about you."
The young woman added that it's "the thought and effort" of the gift that matters most.

Most Comments Were in Her Favor
Eventually, the commentators agreed that presents are about intention, "not the value."
One comment explained that "no gift at all is better than a gift of something I wouldn't ever want."
A woman said she "once got a pair of earrings from a bf of 3 years. My ears aren't pierced."
Initially, mainly women agreed with the original poster, but that changed after a Reddit user shared the video.

Listen to Your Partner, Reddit Concluded
A guy on Reddit wrote that his "fiance always swears I'm such a good gift giver...when I just f--king listen to her. Hear what she wants and likes and take a mental note."
One woman noted that it was primarily men who gave gifts without putting any thought into them.
Another person wrote:
"I've dated a few women who have only ever dated men, and it was easy as f--k to make them happy."
The Reddit community concluded that "people sometimes settle for anyone who gives them the least bit of attention because they are starved for any sort of affection."
