A video of a McDonald's employee preparing a cheeseburger has caused a stir online, as it shows questionable hygiene practices and a lack of attention to detail, such as skimping on pickles and not putting the patty just in the middle of the bun. And thanks to this video, the reason why your cheeseburger never comes out straight suddenly makes sense.
McDonald's cheeseburger is the ultimate fast food treat. The perfect combination of flavors and textures makes it irresistible for any burger lover.
The fluffy bun holds a classic beef patty and a slice of cheese that everyone loves, and the toppings of lettuce, pickles, onions, ketchup, and mustard all come together to create a symphony of flavors in your mouth.
However, the reality of fast food preparation is not always as perfect as we would like it to be, as shown by the video of an employee slapping ingredients together with little attention to detail.
The now-viral TikTok video shows a McDonald's employee making everyone's favorite cheeseburger in a quick 27 seconds, starting with ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles, cheese slices, and finally, the patties.
However, it seems that this speed comes at the cost of quality, as the employee only adds one pickle to each bun and doesn't put the patty in the middle of it. To make matters worse, he isn't wearing any food safety gloves.
The video has obviously hit a nerve in fans of the fast food giant, as it has received over 100 million views, millions of likes, and thousands of comments and shares.

McDonald's may have lost some customers due to the video of an employee making a cheeseburger with bare hands, revealing poor hygiene practices. Many people appear to have given up on the chain's burgers as a result.
“No more McDonald's for me cause they don't wear gloves, ever,” one wrote.
“Def need gloves BUT also more pickles please,” a second added.
“Gloves؟؟” a third questioned.
Before giving up on your favorite cheeseburger from McDonald's, it's worth noting that not all employees neglect hygiene at the workplace. As one employee commented, "As a McDonald's employee, I'd throw hands for not wearing gloves."
For some, poor hygiene was not the main issue, but the single, insufficient pickle in the burger.

“Nah why McDonald's gotta be so stingy with their pickles,” one commented.
“McDonald's always be ripping people off their pickles. Smh,” another added.
For some, the lack of attention to detail, like not properly placing the patty in the center of the bun or not straightening it, was the most frustrating part.
“Honestly how hard is it to put the patty on right,” one questioned.
“I don’t get what is so hard in putting the damn patty in the MIDDLE of the bun,” a second added.
“WHY DIDNT U STRAIGHTEN THE PATTY- IM GONNA GO FERAL,” a third wrote.
“So this why my burger never straight,” a fourth concluded.

McDonald’s Big Mac Prep Video Makes the Fast Food Chain’s Situation Even Worse
This cheeseburger preparation video was not the only one that left McDonald’s enthusiasts disappointed. The same user had previously shared a video of a McDonald's worker preparing the iconic Big Mac with no gloves on and without paying attention to detail.
The video, which has amassed over 77m views on TikTok, has received quite the same reaction from viewers, with some choosing to quit their favorite burger and others feeling disappointed by the lack of effort put into making it.
“never McDonald's again,” a user wrote.
“no McDonald's for me again, due to no protection gloves,” a second added.
“In EVERY McDonald's in the UK they don't use gloves... that's why I don't get McDonald's here,” a third shared.

But don’t be too quick to judge, according to a former McDonald's employee, making burgers with bare hands may be one of the fast food chain's hygiene rules.
"I worked at McDonald's and we don't wear gloves because it can spread more bacteria and constantly changing gloves is a waste of resources, so we wash our hands frequently," they explained.
Some people also believe that gloves are less sanitary when preparing food. "I don't understand why people don't realize that not wearing gloves and washing your hands is cleaner," one user added.
Others couldn't resist adding their own special touch to the comment section, making puns and jokes about the Big Mac preparation video.
“Why are they called a Big Mac when they are so little???” one questioned.
“no gloves on big Mac and gloves when use spatula,” a second joked.
“No wonder it is a mess when you open up the box!!” a third concluded.
It may be a matter of perspective whether not wearing gloves while making burgers is hygienic or not, but one thing we can all agree on is that such videos don't do McDonald's any favors.
However, if you're a true fan of the global brand, these videos won't come between you and your love for their classic cheeseburgers or mouth-watering Big Macs.
