But actress Salma Hayek recently shared a useful piece of advice that can help you maintain a more positive outlook and keep these negative words from dragging you down.

A recent TikTok video posted by @motiversity has gone viral after Salma Hayek shared a piece of life advice that gave some goosebumps and left others in tears.

In the short 27-second clip, the Mexican-American actress argues that people have the ability to give words their meaning, and it's within their control to make that meaning positive or negative.

“If I start insulting you in another language, you feel nothing,” she explains, “they don't mean anything to you because it's you who puts the meaning to it. “

“Me? I know what it means, but it doesn't matter how hard I screamed into you, you might start laughing.”

The Desperado star advises people not to let negative words affect them by stripping away their negative meanings. By doing so, they’re left with meaningless words that no longer have power over them.

“Take their words, take away the value of the words, and drop them to the floor,” she says, “if you take that away, they fall to the ground. they never get to touch you. they are nothing”

One viewer was so moved by Salma's words that they were brought to tears, as they shared in the comments section, “now I’m crying.”

Another person seemed to have a breakthrough moment after hearing her advice, writing, “I have never ever thought about it that way…Goosebumps.”

On the other hand, Some expressed doubts about whether they could follow Salma's advice, with one sharing, “if its so easy why do i still feel the pain.”

While Salma Hayek's advice to strip away the negativity from words may not be easy for everyone to follow, one thing we can all agree on is that words have the power to hurt and leave lasting emotional scars. Therefore, we should all strive to use them wisely and with kindness.
