The TikTok community is buzzing with the shocking declarations of a mother who openly expresses her “despise” for her adopted daughter from Russia. She fearlessly declares that her daughter is "pure evil" and living with her has been nothing short of "pure hell" from day one.
Unfiltered Confession - Mother Shares Strong Negative Feelings Towards Adopted Daughter
A Facebook post from 2018 reveals that the mother holds strong negative feelings towards her young daughter.
“I think I really despise my daughter, adopted from Russia at 14 months,” reads the post. “She is now 13. I wish our agency did more to warn [prospective] parents about the [possibility] of RAD.”
RAD - A Condition Born Out of Neglect and Abuse
Reactive attachment disorder (RAD) is a condition where a child is unable to establish healthy emotional bonds with their caregivers, often resulting from emotional abuse or neglect in their early years, as per The Mayo Clinic.
These children find it difficult to regulate their emotions and struggle to create significant relationships with others.
Children Cannot Be Blamed for Their Condition
According to this definition of RAD, blaming her 13-year-old daughter for developing RAD is a mistake on the mother's part as she is just a child and the product of her upbringing.
Therefore, she cannot be held responsible if she has this rare and often misdiagnosed condition.
Feeling “Trapped” and “On Guard” with Her RAD-Affected Daughter"
“Now I feel trapped and on guard all the time,” her mother admits.
“She is inappropriate, she steals, lies, hoards food and garbage, is completely disorganized, disrespectful, angry and I wish she was gone.”
After Growing Up In A “Happy” Home, Mom Feels “Stuck” With A Adopted Daughter
Two years after her first post, she returned to posting on Facebook in the hopes of finding someone who could empathize with her, writing:
“Omg. I hate her so much. Please tell me I’m not the only one. I’m sorry, I grew up in a happy, respectful home and now I’m stuck with this.”
Shirking Responsibility
Despite having legally adopted her daughter, the mother refuses to take responsibility by pointing to her daughter's lack of biological relationship.
“Doesn’t the county have to take your child if you voluntarily relinquish foster care? Isn’t there such a thing as ‘Refusal to Accept Parental Responsibility’ (RAPR)?” she writes in another post. “We are done!”
Growing Resentment
The mother's hatred towards her daughter worsened after she declined to attend her grandfather's memorial service
“Said she had no relationship with my dad (who she knew her entire life) and didn’t care he was dead,” the mother shared in another post. “Said she didn’t want to see any of my family members because they all ‘hate her.’”
“She Is Pure Evil, I Do Not Love Her”
The situation took a turn for the worse when the daughter refused to attend her grandfather's memorial service, with her mom going as far as describing her as “pure evil.”
She goes on, “I do not like her. I do not love her. I do not want her.”
Mom Eagerly Waits Until Daughter Becomes An “Orphan Again”
The mother further admits that she eagerly waits the day when her daughter will be "out of our lives for good," as she has made living with her an unbearable "pure hell" from day one.
The mom adds, “I never want to see or speak to her again. She has spent her entire life pushing me away. Mission accomplished. She will be cut off at 18 and be an orphan again.”
Should A Mother Blame A Child For Behavior That She Adopted As A Baby And Raised For Many Years?
One person suggested that the mother's Facebook posts regarding her daughter's issues may be a result of her own failings as a parent, since she had adopted the child as a baby.
“She adopted a BABY,” they pointed out, questioning, “How does she possibly think those issues aren’t cause she’s a bad parent?!”
If Her Adopted Child Hoarding Food, It Could Be a Sign of Parental Abuse
Regarding the mother's complaint about her adopted daughter hoarding food, a commenter pointed out that such behavior may be a sign of abuse from the parents, rather than the child's fault.
They remarked, “Hoarding food? Seems like a red flag that they are withholding food as abuse.”
Adopted Children Can Sense When Adoptive Parents Don't Fully Accept Them
Someone else pointed out that adopted children can pick up on their parents' feelings towards them, even at a young age.
“They act as though these kids can’t sense that their adoptive parents absolutely hate them. Kids pick up on those things!”
