The TikTok video depicting a woman single-handedly carrying furniture while her partner watches on has received harsh criticism from viewers, with many women advising others to avoid men who exhibit such behavior, as it suggests they don't see you as their “dream girl.”
The video in question was shared by TikToker Jamie Kinross (@jamielee_designs) with the accompanying caption, “When an independent woman asks you to do something and you don’t immediately do it”
In the video, Jamie Kinross can be heard saying to her partner, "If I have to ask you seven times to do something, I'm just going to do it myself."
Despite asking for her partner's help earlier, Jamie received no response from her partner, leading her to carry the ottoman by herself as he stands by and watches.
"How's that working out for you?" he asks Jamie, and she responds, "Actually, pretty good," while completing the furniture transport alone.

In response to the video, Michellexdiaz (@bymichellediaz) voiced her intense criticism in another TikTok video, calling out the partner for not doing anything but standing by and watching Jamie Kinross do all the work.
Despite what some people might think, Michelle asserts that "there's no trophy for struggling,” noting that the man in the video is also aware of this,
She highlights the problematic attitude of Jamie's partner in the video, who was like "Huh, look at you, I knew that if I didn't do it, you would end up doing it."
Michelle goes on to ask whether Jamie believes that by doing everything herself, she will inspire her partner to step up, and answer with a definitive "no."
She elaborates on the negative impact of such an approach when dealing with a partner, explaining that it sends the message to him that he doesn't have to do anything because she will always end up doing it herself.
Michelle's advice to all women is to avoid men like Jamie's partner, urging them not to “live, marry, date, or procreate with men like these.”
She argues that when a man stands idly by and watches a woman struggles with a task, it shows that he does not view her as a “dream girl,” and therefore she should not view him as a dream man.

In the comment section, viewers backed Michelle's opinion on men who do not offer to help their partners.
“The fact that he watches her struggle and makes fun of her…ick she deserves better,” one user commented.
Another viewer pointed out that the behavior shown in the video is not limited to just partners, but can also be exhibited by strangers who refuse to “help a woman struggling to carry something.”
A third recalled an ex-partner who used his mother as an excuse for not helping with household tasks, saying "My mom used to do it all for six kids," to which they replied, “Ask her if she would do it again.”
Drawing from her own experience, a fourth commenter warned that if a man refuses to help with something as simple as carrying a “couch,” it will only be a matter of time before he leaves you to carry “everything else” on your own.
A fifth expressed anger towards the partner in the video, stating that his lack of support made them "so mad" and that it is “crazy” for men not to want to help their partners.
A sixth wrote that they “would have thrown the ottoman” at their partner for not helping.
