New York Times/Siena College polls showed Trump's advantage in four out of six swing states, but that's not the worst part. Biden is falling behind in all but two polls, and his numbers are getting worse by the minute.
Biden in hot waters
Despite many Democrats expressing support for Biden's administration, the polls are disastrous. NBC News poll even suggested that Trump is leading Biden among voters under 35, 46 percent to 42 percent. Biden, the oldest President, was never popular among younger voters, but that is insufficient to justify his historically low approval ratings. According to FiveThirtyEight's recent polling, the President's approval was 38.
Trump reached new heights
Trump broke 46 percent for the first time in RealClearPolitics' average, leaving Biden with 42 points. Fox News survey showed Trump has 50 points, while Biden has 46. While some believe Biden's declining numbers are due to the Middle East war, the decline has been steadily present throughout the year.
Swing states at stake
The New York Times/Siena polls showed Trump leading Biden in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Morning Consult and Bloomberg News reported even worse news, with Trump leading Biden in six out of seven swing states. In Arizona, Trump has an 8-point advantage, while in Michigan, he is 5 points ahead. Biden won in both states in 2020 elections.
Biden cannot blame third-party candidates
Polls mainly do not include undecided voters, nor do surveys discuss third-party candidates. In fact, many predicted that third-party candidates would likely harm Trump, not Biden, but not enough to beat him. Overall, it is too early to make predictions regarding the 2024 elections, but things are looking gloomy for Biden despite Democrats winning in the 2022 and 2023 midterms.
Clinton to the rescue
Hillary Clinton spoke about Biden's numbers and said, "If you go back and look at comparable points, Barack Obama was behind at this point in his reelection, my husband was behind … until the candidates are chosen, people are always saying maybe there’s somebody better out there … That’s natural." She added that Biden has done "a really good job as president. I like to evaluate people in public life in terms of what they have gotten done for us."
Trump's bizarre advantage
Legal cases against Trump put him in the spotlight and gave him media attention that could not be measured. Trump's visibility gave him an advantage unseen in American history, and things will only get crazier once federal cases against Trump go to trial.
