A Missouri man has been arrested after committing a shocking act of animal cruelty that has left the local community outraged.
Heartless Act Nearly Kills Innocent Pup
In a disturbing case of animal abuse, a small Dachshund was discovered trembling in a roadside ditch during freezing weather conditions.
The poor pup had been cruelly restrained with electrical and duct tape wrapped tightly around his muzzle and paws. Both his front and back legs were bound together, making it impossible for him to move or escape.
Most horrifying of all, police say the perpetrator simply tossed the helpless animal from his car window into the ditch, leaving him to die in temperatures just barely above zero.

Miracle Survival Against All Odds
The little dog, later named Jimmy, somehow managed to survive for approximately 12 hours in these brutal conditions before being discovered and rescued.
"He was cold, starving & possibly had a concussion," according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
Officers who found Jimmy were heartbroken by his condition. It's truly remarkable that the pup survived such an ordeal, especially given the freezing temperatures and his inability to move or even whimper for help.

Justice for Jimmy
After investigating the case, authorities arrested Paul Garcia, who now faces serious legal consequences for his actions.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office announced that Garcia has been charged with felony animal abuse and armed criminal action. His bail was set at $50,000.
"We now have a subject in custody for this crime because of the patrol deputy, skilled crime scene technicians, fingerprint examiners, and detectives," the Sheriff's Office stated.

Road to Recovery
Following his rescue, Jimmy was immediately transported to an animal hospital to receive treatment for his injuries and the effects of exposure.
