A woman has recently gone to TikTok to show the internet the unique, and strangely funny way she was fired from her job alongside other co-workers.
TikToker and restaurant worker, Allison (@allysueloohoo), showed a screenshot of a group text she received from her co-worker.
Allison explains in a comment that the information came from her manager but it was one of her fellow servers that told them.
The text reads, “Hey y’all so everybody fired I’m not gonna beat around the bush with y’all. So if [you’re] scheduled tonight or this week at all yeah we’re done the restaurant as a whole is done [redacted] grille is no longer a thing.”
The co-worker says at the end of the text that they were “just told” this information and that it was “messed up” the way they did things.
The video is captioned, “Disappointed but not surprised during Christmas too....”
Allison is seen laughing and smiling in the video about the way she received the news and about how her coworker had gone about relaying it.

Viewers Shared Their Own Stories Of Being Fired Without Being Told They Were Fired
Many in the comments also shared their experiences with being fired in really unconventional ways.
“Is this how I found out 1801 grille on my silly little sec campus is being closed” said one user.
“at least you got a heads up. i went in to open my store one day and there were chains on the door lmao” another user chimed in.
However, there were many jumping in on the laughs with Allison, reveling in how straightforward the co-worker was in talking about the bad news.
“”We’re done the restaurant as a whole is done” 😭😭😭”.
““Hey y’all so everybody fired” 😂😂😂 why did he think this text was the best way to tell y’all?”

Many were also asking for a part 2, wondering what happened to the restaurant and how other co-workers responded, but so far Allison has not updated the story.
The DailyDot has also confirmed that the restaurant in question was indeed shut down and every employee that worked there was laid-off.
In another comment, Allison verified that this one single text from her co-worker was all she had in terms of information about everyone being fired.
“Literally that text is all I got,” she explained in a comment.
Update: Allison's TikTok profile became private and her video is closed to the public.
Layoffs Are Becoming Increasingly Common
All over the country, many people are being let go from jobs they presumed to be secure. It’s becoming more common and there’s been a quiet mindset shift as people (particularly millennials and Gen Z-ers) realize that they shouldn’t sacrifice their life for a corporate job that could let them go at any time.
