Though we spend our time and effort trying to know everything about the people we care the most about, we are often devastated when we discover that we never truly knew them at all.
Maybe they say something that shocks us, or maybe they do something that completely flips our world upside down.
One Nashville mom recently experienced the latter when she discovered a hidden camera in her daughter’s bathroom. A camera she claims was planted by her very own husband of 14 years.

“When you’ve been with a man for 14 years and you find out he’s been watching your 16-year-old taking showers,” she wrote in a textbox over the video.
Chastity Brintle shared the scary story on TikTok, where millions of people showed support for her and her family and expressed their anger and disgust at the husband. Many were shocked by the fact that the very man who was supposed to protect these girls was the same one who tried to hurt them.

In the now-deleted TikTok video, Brintle begins the story by showing the camera she found hidden in her daughters’ bathroom.
She explains to the viewers that her daughters’ bathroom has been renovated by her husband, as he works in construction. She further detailed that the reason she found it was because she decided to use her daughters’ bathroom shower while they were away at school.
When she entered the bathroom, she immediately realized that the light would not turn on. She decided to go get a spare to replace it, assuming that maybe it had just gone out.
Using a flashlight to help remove the previous lightbulb and insert the other, that’s when something caught her eye.
She spotted the camera tucked away behind the fixture.

She describes her feelings at the moment of discovering the camera, revealing that her two-year-old son was standing nearby and she didn’t want to alarm him.
“My two-year-old was standing right there. I didn’t want to go crazy or psycho and let him see. I didn’t want my two-year-old to know what’s going on,” she says.
So she reacted as subtly and calmly as she could before grabbing her son and leaving the house, calling the police immediately afterward.
She allegedly met with detectives at her home, but they were unable to find any devices to collect for evidence as the husband had them with him.
But during a call with the law enforcement listening in, her husband, 39-year-old Horacio Minero-Hernandez, admitted to planting the camera in the daughters’ bathroom.

When the devastated and heartbroken mother asked why, he claimed it was a "mistake,”. He added, “when you have something wrong in your f**king head, you just do it without thinking."
Her husband claimed he never watched any footage of the girls since the camera never worked.
On November 18, he was taken into custody and charged with two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.
Brintle says after everything that has happened, she is really struggling emotionally and financially, adding that it is difficult to press charges against her husband.
The mother has moved herself and her children out of the home, but expenses are adding up quickly as she is trying to find a new home to stay in, file for divorce, and receive child support to hold her and her family over.
“It will take me a few months to get on my feet and get a divorce and receive child support and we need housing ASAP,” she shared on her donation page and gathered around $35,000 at this point.
“Thanks so much, God bless and please if you can’t donate at least pray for us. Mentally, my daughters and I are devastated.”
Fortunately, Brintle is being praised and celebrated for her bravery and dedication to keeping her children safe.
