How do you make a smooth smoothie?

1. Make sure that your blender and the blade are in good condition.

Unfortunately, your blender's blade can also wear off over time, which can make your smoothie less than perfect.

If you're noticing that the blade is not as sharp or there are chunks of fruit and ice cubes then consider replacing them with a new set of blades to get back on track! This will ensure an even blend without any lumps left behind.

2. Don't start at maximum speed

Don't start at max speed on your blender just because this can actually cause more chunks and lumps to form in a less desirable way! Instead, use a medium or low setting first, then gradually switch to the highest speed to get the best results.

3. Blend long enough.

Let's be honest, in a fast-paced world like this, we don't want to wait around too much for anything, especially for our mouthwatering smoothie. But it's important to remember that the longer you blend, and the more powerful your blender is the smoother it will be! So if time permits or when making a big batch of green goodness for later in the day make sure not to rush through this step because patience pays off with an even better tasting drink at end result.

4. Use the best blender

Best blender for smoothies

Talking about blenders... If you are a maximalist and want the best of the best blenders out there, the Vitamix Professional Series 750 is your best bet. This blender is a heavy-duty workhorse that will make your smoothie super duper smooth and perfect!

This bad boy appears on top of almost every best blender list, and it's easy to see why: with a powerful 1,560-watt motor and 5 pre-programmed settings, it's one of the most powerful and versatile blenders on the market. Check its price HERE.

5. Sweep down the sides. Then blend again.

After some blending, it's important to make sure you scrape the sides of your blender with a spatula or spoon. This will ensure that all those hard-stuck fruits and veggies are getting blended in properly so they don't end up at the bottom when drinking!

One thing I do is use my hand as well for scraping down any stubborn bits on top before continuing with another round of blend cycle until everything has been thoroughly mixed together. This ensures no chunks left behind which can be especially annoying if trying out new recipes where ingredients need specific amounts.

6. Don't use kale.

Kale is a great leafy green to add to your smoothies, but it can be tough on blenders. I recommend using other greens like spinach or romaine lettuce instead which are easier to use when making your smoothie as they usually have softer textures. This will help keep things moving smoothly through blender blades without getting stuck at the bottom where the blade isn’t able to reach them easily enough.

7. Add yogurt or a yogurt substitute.

Yogurt is the secret ingredient to make your smoothie super smooth instead of chunky. Adding yogurt can help give it a creamier texture and make the smoothie more filling. It also helps balance out any bitterness from fruit or vegetables you might be using in your recipe. So if there’s something that tastes too tart for some reason then adding yogurt or dairy-free yogurt will do solve the problem.

8. Protein powder.

If you want to add protein powder (or other types of powders) I recommend mixing them with water first before putting them into a blender because this way less air is whipped up when blending together ingredients – resulting again smoother consistency overall. If you value quality, check out the most voted, plant-based protein powder of the year, Vega Sport Premium Protein.

9. Smoothest fruits.

The best fruits for the smoothest smoothies are bananas, avocados, mangoes, and papayas. If all you want is pure smoothness, then these are your winner ingredients. Here are more info on the Best Fruit Combinations That Blend Well Together.

10. If you’re using frozen fruit

Then make sure to melt it before adding it into your blender because the cold temperature can cause chunks of ice in your drink and that's not the smoothest experience that we would like to achieve here.
